Meeting Them IV

The Traveler wakes rested to mountains and wispy clouds running by outside the window.
A Lady in Pink tells the traveler of dangerous mountains and fertile lands, of tomatoes and corn and 30 years of a more diverse diet.
Peach juice, too delicious for words!
On arriving in Xi'an, the traveler descends into the smoky depths of an internet café. Her planned hosts unreachable by phone or net, she surfaces.
On a Wednesday morning, so many people buying train tickets! Long waiting, a voice barking, finally a departure ticket procured. But with nowhere to lay down a heavy bag, where can a traveler go?
Where luck leads, the traveler follows; to thick, sweet noodles with friendly college students. The brown shirt quite appropriate for the situation, reads, 'How exciting! The unknown world's coming to us!!'

Following an amusing call to a third roommate, the trio homeward proceeds. ('We picked someone up at the train station, it's no big deal. It's no big deal! Yes, of course it's a girl. Ok, see you later.')
Majoring in English, the girls learn difficult vocabulary, yet refuse to speak. Rested, all venture forth, briefly for a shoe fix pausing.
Roommates, at another internet café, reunite. A hostel is found, a bus located. Then, a phonecall! Original hosts found, the group changes direction.
The traveler enters, rests her bag ... cautiously. The room given her with weapons stocked, the bed with piled clothes and snotty sheets -- the outcome of a failed tissue search -- covered.
In many ways more foreign than China, an expat household based around drinking, smoking, and sloth greets the traveler. After a night of raucous KTV, the traveler returns to sleep. Hours later, hosts stumble in still singing, sprawl on couches, are still. The traveller writes a note, slips away to explore. Destination: 党家村。
