Ok, this is just silly. If you look at the larger version of this picture (click to see), you'll be able to see the clocktower. But in the smaller version, it's all but invisible in the smog.
Luckily for me ... I get to take a trip! My plans are to go to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and the Xi'an area. (Although I've been told by some I should trade Nanjing for Xi'an... I'll think about it.) I have a whole week off from work, and adventure awaits! Also, I've got a super-awesome Osprey pack lent to me by Lorette that fits like a hug. When I wore it home yesterday a Chinese guy asked me if I was moving :) I'll stock it up with water and crackers before I go, as well as clothing and my book of Chinese fairy tales.
Be warned... I'm not expecting to blog for the next week or so. Don't worry though, I'll be fine! I've got at least one contact in each of the three cities I mentioned. And for those of you who know Carson, he'll be waiting for me at the train station in Shanghai.
